(ATCHISON, Kan., Sept. 14) – McKendree University freshmen Mitch Fear (Southampton. England/Tauntons) and Thomas Ward connected twice on Sunday to lead the No. 8 men's soccer team to a 2-1 win at Benedictine College (Kan.).
In the 30th minute, a corner kick by Ward (Frodsham, England) would get put past the keeper by Fear (Southampton, England), his first career goal at McKendree. The Ravens tied the game in the 55th minute and the match appeared to be heading into overtime, until Fear took an assist from Ward in the 86th minute to score the game winning goal.
Freshman Joe Sagar (Oldham, England/Hulme) (Oldham, England) remained perfect on the season with his sixth win in goal, recording seven saves.
The No. 8 Bearcats, now 6-0 overall, will host No. 25 Olivet Nazarene University Friday at 1 p.m.
