(CANTON, Mo., Sept. 20) – The No. 23 McKendree University women's soccer team improved to 5-0-1 overall after an 8-0 win over Culver-Stockton College Saturday. Six Bearcats scored goals in the win.

Varns (Chatham, Ill./Glenwood) scored McKendree's first two goals of the game. The first was on an assist from sophomore Theresa Kaiser (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline Academy) (St. Louis, Mo./Ursuline) and the second was unassisted. Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) provided the next two goals on assists by Katelyn Cleveland (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) and Sarah Ryan (Rochester, Ill./Rochester) (Rochester, Ill./Rochester). Junior Alex Adams (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) closed out the first half scoring with 27-seconds remaining in the first half on an assist from sophomore Megan Ansley (Troy, Ill./Triad) (Troy, Ill./Triad).

Ryan and Kaiser both scored unassisted goals early in the second half and Ryan recorded her second assist of the day on the Bearcats eighth and final goal of the game by Cleveland in the 47^th minute.

Sophomore Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) improved to 5-0-1 on the season and played 45 minutes in goal with two saves. Freshman Sarah Luecking (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) also played 45 minutes in goal.

McKendree travels to Harris-Stowe State University Tuesday for an American Midwest Conference game at 2 p.m.
