(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 3) – McKendree University junior midfielder Sarah Ryan (Rochester, Ill./Rochester) recorded a hat trick Wednesday night in a 6-1 win over Missouri Valley College. Ryan now has six goals in three games.

The Bearcats, now 2-0-1 overall on the season, travel to Westminster College on Sunday for a game at 5 p.m.

The Bearcats scored their first goal of the game when sophomore forward Ashley Varns (Chatham, Ill./Glenwood) (Chatham, Ill./Glenwood) found Ryan 14-seconds into the game for the first goal. Ryan scored again in the 13^th minute off a pass from freshman midfielder Sulyn Keomanivane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Grnaite City) to make the score 2-0. Missouri Valley's Amanda Rainer cut the deficit in half in the 20^th minute scoring unassisted. Ryan scored her sixth goal of the season and final one of the game in the 27^th minute on another pass from Keomanivane. Junior midfielder Alex Adams (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) gave the Bearcats a 4-1 lead in the 36^th minute off an assist from junior midfielder Katelyn Cleveland (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville).

Adams scored again in the 50^th minute unassisted and Keomanivane scored her first goal of the season on an assist by Varns in the 53^rd minute to round out the Bearcats scoring.

Sophomore Liz Yanko (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) (St. Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) and freshmen Sarah Luecking (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) and Cassie Lofink (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) combined to save three shots in the win. Yanko improved to 2-0-1 on the season in 45 minutes played.
