(CEDAR FALLS, Iowa, Jan. 10)—The No. 6 McKendree University wrestling team defeated No. 3 University of Great Falls (Mont.) 30-12 in the championship quarterfinals at the 2009 National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals in the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Junior Ryan Guillett (Poteau, Okla./) (Poteau, Okla./Poteau) won his first match of the day at 125 pounds with a 8-2 decision win over Kyle Middlemist. No. 2 Wade Lowe (Godfrey, Ill./) (Godfrey, Ill./Alton) pinned Lance Wilson at 2:59 to win his second match of the day. In his first match of the day, senior Jermaine Waye (Altama, Ga./) (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) won a 5-1 decision over Jason Costello and No. 6 Ryan Jahn (Bolingbrook, Ill./) defeated Jeremy Montang by a 4-1 decision. Aaron Winning (Highland, Ill./) (Highland, Ill./Althoff Catholic) and Josh Bryant (Tuttle, Okla./) (Tuttle, Okla./Tuttle) won back-to-back matches by fall at 165 and 174 pounds and junior Cedric Powell (Duncan, Okla./) (Duncan, Okla./Duncan) won his McKendree debut with a 11-6 decision over Brad Fraser to round out the Bearcats' scoring.

The Bearcats will face No. 2 Southern Oregon University Sunday at 11 a.m. in the championship semifinals.
