(CEDAR FALLS, Iowa-Jan.11)- The No. 6 McKendree University wrestling team was defeated by No. 4 Dickinson State University (N.D.) on Sunday in the third place dual at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Bearcat finished the weekend tournament with a record of 2-2 at the National Duals.
No. 6 McKendree will return to action next Friday when they travel to Lebanon, Tenn., for a dual against Cumberland University (Tenn.) at 7 p.m. They will follow that with the Cumberland Open on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Wins for McKendree came from Jermaine Waye (Altama, Ga./) (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) in a 4-3 decision over Nathen Schweitzer at 141 pounds, No. 6 Ryan Jahn (Bolingbrook, Ill./) (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) at 149 pounds by fall over Jose Serrato 1:32 into the match, and No. 1 Andrew Sanchez (Shiloh, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) in a 4-1 decision over Matt Michaelson at 197 pounds.
