In No. 1 singles, freshman Adriana Gonzalez (Lima, Peru/San Agustin) (Lima, Peru) defeated Allison Gilles, 6-0, 6-1, but Lindenwood's Adela Slovakana defeated Giuliana Gonzalez (Lima, Peru/San Agustin) (Lima, Peru), 6-3, 7-5, at No. 2 singles to even the score. Raminta Kazemekaityte of Lindenwood defeated sophomore Emily Cimmarolli (Belleville, Ill./Althoff), 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3 singles, but it would be the final singles win for Lindenwood as freshmen Nathalia Oliviera (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) and Liz Otto (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and junior Alison Holloway (Effingham, Ill./Effingham) (Effingham, Ill./Effingham) all won their matches at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 singles, respectively.
In doubles action, the Bearcat duo of A. Gonzalez and G. Gonzalez defeated Gilles and Sarah Sharpe, 8-2, and the tandem of Otto and Holloway defeated Rachel Bailey and Elise Beckenmeier, 8-1, at No. 3 doubles. The team of Cimarolli and Oliviera fell to Kazemmekaityte and Slovakova, 9-7.
The Bearcats will compete in the ITA Regional this weekend at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo.
