(COLUMBIA, Mo., Oct. 27)—The McKendree University volleyball team was defeated in American Midwest Conference action Tuesday night at Columbia College. The Cougars swept the best-of-five match by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-15.
McKendree saw its six-match win streak in AMC play come to an end with Tuesday's loss. The Bearcats slip to 15-12 overall and 9-4 in the conference. Columbia improves to 28-2 on the year and remains atop the league stands at 13-0.
Junior middle hitter Ashley Perry (Sparta, Ill./Sparta) (Sparta, Ill./Sparta) paced McKendree with five kills and two blocks. Senior outside hitter Andrea Lucas (Festus, Mo./Festus) (Festus, Mo./Festus) and junior outside hitter Tara Ryterski (Nashville, Ill./Nashville) (Nashville, Ill./Nashville) each posted three attacks.
Senior libero Lauren Sarver (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) contributed a team-best nine digs.
McKendree will return to action Friday at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
