(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 17) – The McKendree University women's basketball team completed the season sweep of No. 20 Bethel University (Tenn.) on Tuesday night with a 75-59 win at the Melvin Price Convocation Center.
McKendree, 4-2 overall, will travel to play NCAA Division II University of Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Senior guard Haley Klingelhoefer (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) and junior guard Ashley Agee (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) (Moberly, Mo./Moberly) both scored 17 to lead the Bearcats. Senior forward Jill Wolf (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) scored 12 points in her McKendree debut and junior guard Katie Fullerton (Coulterville, Ill./Coulterville) (Coulterville, Ill./Marissa) had 10 points in the win.
McKendree shot 56.9-percent from the field in the contest to run away from the Lady Wildcats, who shot 25.7-percent from the field. McKendree led by 14 points, 34-20, at the half and never trailed in the second half to cruise to the win. The win was the second of the season for the Bearcats over the No. 20 Wildcats. McKendree defeated Bethel on the road in their first game of the season, 75-73.
Nina Djokovic led all players with 22 points and 15 rebounds for Bethel. Teena Carter and Joanna Ortiz also scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, in the loss.
