(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Nov. 6)—The McKendree University hockey team had its three-game win streak ended with an 8-3 loss Friday evening at Missouri State University.
The Bearcats slip to 6-5 with the loss. McKendree and Missouri State will wrap up a two-game weekend series on Saturday.
Senior center Charlie Donze (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) (Fairview Heights, Ill./Althoff Catholic) scored two of the three goals for McKendree in the loss. Junior wing Nick Smothers (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) had the other tally for the Bearcats. Defenseman Chris Donahue (Levittown, Pa./Truman) (Levittown, Pa./Truman) handed out a pair of assists in the contest.
Senior Mike Stier (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) stopped 34 shots as he was charged with the loss in goal for the Bearcats.
