(Edwardsville, Ill., Feb. 12)—The NAIA No. 2 McKendree wrestling team defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 36-12,  Thursday night in a wrestling dual.

McKendree started with a forfeit win at 125 pounds and followed it with a win by sophomore Wade Lowe (Godfrey, Ill./) (Godfrey, Ill./Alton) by fall over Justin Bucsa in 1:24. The Bearcats dropped a match at 141 pounds, but had another win by fall by Scott McQuiston (Mascoutah, Ill./) (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) over Nick Jones at the 5:57 mark to give McKendree an 18-6 lead. After dropping two matches at 157 pounds and 165 pounds, the Bearcats won the remaining four matches to cruise to a 36-12 win.

McKendree, now 8-6 in dual matches this season, will return to the mat Friday, February 20 for the NAIA East Region Tournament at Lindenwood University.
