(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Feb. 16)—The McKendree University women's tennis team dropped its season opener last Friday at Saint Louis University 6-0.
The Bearcats only managed to win four games in the match, one by No. 1 Jenny Mennerick (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) in a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Hailee Elmore and one by No. 3 Emily Cimarolli (Belleville, Ill./Althoff) (Belleville, Ill./Althoff) in a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Maureen Rielley. The tandem of Cimarolli and Lauren Szakielo (Troy, IL/Triad) (Troy, IL/Triad) also won two games in a 8-2 loss to Caitlin McKenna and Caitlin Bokulic at No. 2 doubles.
McKendree returns to the court February 28th at Kingspoint in Belleville against Missouri Baptist University.
