(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Feb. 5)— The No. 3 McKendree University wrestling team defeated NCAA Division II University of Indianapolis Thursday night 34-15.

The Bearcats, now 7-5 overall, will travel to the Missouri Valley Open Saturday. Matches begin at 10 a.m.

McKendree cruised to the win after winning seven of the eight matches it wrestled in. Junior Ryan Guillett (Poteau, Okla./) (Poteau, Okla./Poteau) started things off at 125 pounds with a 6-4 win over Jimmy Nichols in overtime. The Bearcats lost the 133 pound and 141 pound matches via forfeit, but won their match at 149 pounds when sophomore Ryan Jahn (Bolingbrook, Ill./) (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook), the NAIA's No. 8 ranked wrestler, defeated David Lopez 14-4. After dropping a match at 157 pounds, No. 5 Aaron Winning (Highland, Ill./) (Highland, Ill./Althoff Catholic) pinned Jacob Blackwell in 2:47. No. 4 Josh Bryant (Tuttle, Okla./) (Tuttle, Okla./Tuttle) won a 8-3 decision over J.T. Jenkins at 174 pounds and senior Tom Edwards (Belleville, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./Belleville East) won a medical forfeit at 184 pounds. No. 1 Andrew Sanchez (Shiloh, Ill./) (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) defeated Sam Johnston 18-7 at 197 pounds and No. 7 Dan Moore (Rolla, Mo./) won a forfeit at heavyweight.
