Sophomore Evgeniy Nigmatyanov (Namangah, Uzbekistan) figured in both Bearcats match victories against the Lions. He needed three sets to win at No. 1 singles, then teamed with freshman Doug Mennerick (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) to post an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.

The loss drops McKendree to 7-4 during its spring season. The Bearcats will compete in the American Midwest Conference/TranSouth Conference NAIA Unaffiliated Meet this weekend in Springfield, Ill. The winner of the event will earn a berth in the NAIA National Championship field next month in Mobile, Ala.
