(Lebanon, Ill., Sept. 6) – The No. 23 McKendree University men's soccer team battled the No. 12 Baker University Wildcats to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in Sunday's final game at the inaugural McKendree Soccer Classic.
No. 23 McKendree, now 4-0-1 overall, travels to Marshall, Mo., on Wednesday to play Missouri Valley College at 4 p.m.
McKendree had twice as many shot attempts as Baker in the contest, 22-11, but the Wildcats held a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal. Bearcat goalkeeper Joe Sagar (Oldham, England/Hulme) (Oldham, England) and Wildcat goalkeeper Alex Burton each continued to one-up each other in goal in a back and forth contest. Sagar ended the game with a season-high seven saves and 110 minutes played.
