No. 4 BEARCATS LOSE DUAL TO No. 3 UNIVERSITY OF GREAT FALLS, 25-12, FINISH IN FOURTH PLACE AT NWCA/CLIFF KEEN NATIONAL DUALS

(CEDAR FALLS, Iowa, Jan. 10)- The McKendree University Bearcats finished in fourth place at the NWCA/Cliff Keen national Duals on Sunday after suffering a 25-12 defeat to No. 3 University of Great Falls (Mont.).

The Bearcats will travel to Lebanon, Tenn., on January 15 for dual matches against Lindsey Wilson College and University of the Cumberlands at 2 p.m., and 4 p.m., respectively.

McKendree's first win of the dual came at 141 pounds by sophomore Kyle Williams (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) in a 7-3 decision over Jason Costello. Following two straight losses, junior David Dwyer (South Beloit, Ill./Hononegah) (South Beloit, Ill./Hononegah) won a 10-6 decision over Noah Hatton at 165 pounds. Junior Andrew Sanchez (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) (Shiloh, Ill./O'Fallon) prevailed in a match between the top two NAIA wrestler's at 197 pounds by defeating Alex Calvi in a 2-1 decision. Senior Chas Maloch (Corona, Calif./Santiago) (Corona, Calif./Santiago) won the last match of the dual for the Bearcats by defeating Eric Hinebauch in a 14-7 decision.
