(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Jan. 23) – The No. 15 McKendree University women's basketball team scored a team-high 98 points on Saturday in a 98-59 runaway victory over Harris-Stowe State University.
McKendree, now 15-4 overall (5-1 AMC), hosts Williams Baptist College in an American Midwest Conference matchup on Thursday, January 28, at 5:30 p.m.
Sophomore forward Emily Woodland (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) led the Bearcats with 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the field. Redshirt freshman guard Meghan O'Connell (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) also scored a career-high 18 points in the win. Senior guard Haley Klingelhoefer (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) scored 12 points and senior forward Jill Wolf (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) (Okawville, Ill./Okawville) recorded the double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
All 12 McKendree players scored in the win and the Bearcats held the Hornets to 25-percent shooting from the field in the game. McKendree also out-rebounded the hosts 60-45 and forced 14 Harris-Stowe turnovers.
Denisha Mitchell led all players with 27 points and Deanna Tidwell had 13 points in the loss.
