(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 20) – Freshmen Meghan O'Connell (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) (Wildwood, Mo./Lafayette) and Courtney Harris (Wildwood, Mo./St. Joseph Academy) (St. Louis, Mo./St. Joseph Academy) both scored 12 points to lead No. 14 McKendree University to a 65-46 American Midwest Conference victory on Saturday afternoon.
McKendree, now 22-5 overall (12-2 American Midwest Conference), will host Lindenwood University in a non-conference contest on February 23 at 5:30 p.m.
Senior guard
Haley Klingelhoefer (Mascoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) (Macscoutah, Ill./Mascoutah) joined O'Connell and Harris as the only other double digit scorer for the Bearcats with 10 points. Sophomore
Emily Woodland (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) also scored eight points and had eight rebounds in the win.
McKendree was never in danger in the contest and shot 54.8-percent from the field in the first half to lead 42-18 at the break. The Bearcats rotated the lineup in the second half and led by as many as 32 in the second half to cruise to a 65-46 win.
Gwendelyn Ellis and Ca'Andra Davis paced the Hornets with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the loss.
