(BELLEVILLE, Ill., March 1)—The McKendree University women's tennis team defeated Missouri Baptist University 8-1 last Saturday.
The duo of Guiliana and Adriana Gonzalez (Lima, Peru/San Agustin) (Lima, Peru/San Augustin) defeated Brittany Becker and Lindsay Dixon by an 8-0 score at No. 1 doubles and were followed by and 8-2 victory by Emily Cimarolli (Belleville, Ill./Althoff) (Belleville, Ill./Althoff) and Nathalia Oliviera (Rio de Janiero, Brazil/Bahiense) over Meghan McCreary and Kasha Davenport at No. 2 doubles. Junior Allison Holloway (Effingham, Ill./Effingham) and freshman Liz Otto (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) closed out doubles play with an 8-1 win over Hannah Wadlow and Kristen Roberts at No. 3 doubles.
Guiliana Gonzalez defeated Meghan McCreary, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and Adriana Gonzalez (Lima, Peru/San Agustin) defeated Brittany Becker, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles. Cimarolli defeated Lindsay Dixon at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-4, and Oliveira rolled to a 6-1, 6-1, win over Hannah Wadlow at No. 4 singles. Otto earned the Bearcats last win in singles play at No. 5 singles with a 6-1, 6-0, win over Kasha Davenport.
McKendree returns to the court March 16th for a match against Indiana Tech in Lebanon, Ill.
