(LEBANON, Ill., April 20)—The McKendree University men's tennis team saw its six-match win streak came to an end on Tuesday with an 8-1 loss at Washington University in St. Louis.
Freshman Barnabas Toth (Cegleo, Hungary/Kossuth Lajos) (Budapest, Hungary) helped the Bearcats avoid a shutout by posting a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. McKendree, the No. 19-ranked team in the NAIA, slipped to 18-3 on the season. Washington University, rated No. 2 in NCAA Division III, improves to 13-3 overall.
The Bearcats will close out the 2010 regular season Wednesday at home against Olivet Nazarene University.
