(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 16)--The McKendree University hockey team was defeated by Hope College, 8-0, in the Bearcats' final game at the Seth Schupan Memorial Classic Saturday afternoon in Midland, Mich.

McKendree trailed 3-0 after one period and 5-0 at the second intermission as the Bearcats slipped to 1-6-1 on the year. After playing its first eight games of the 2011-12 season on the road, McKendree will return to the U.S. Ice Sports Complex in Fairview Heights to host Purdue University in its home opener Friday at 7:30 p.m.
