(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 18)- The McKendree University men's wrestling team will host its first dual of the season on Wednesday night against No. 16 University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Bearcats are 2-1 all-time against the Rangers in dual competition dating back to their first meeting in 2010. Tonight's match is the first between the two schools in Lebanon.

PRESEASON RANKINGS: McKendree received votes in the preseason NCAA Division II team rankings, while UW-Parkside is ranked No. 16. Sophomore Darren Wynn (Champaign, Ill./Centennial), No. 3 at 141 pounds, is the only Bearcat wrestler ranked in the preseason individual rankings. Nick Fishback, No. 4 at 165 pounds, and Ronzel Darling, No. 8 at 125 pounds, are both ranked in the preseason for the Rangers.

FUTURE WRESTLING CONFERENCE FOES: The Bearcats and Rangers have only met three times previously in dual competition, but matches could become more frequent in the near future. Drury University recently announced the addition of a wrestling program that will start competition in 2016-17, giving the Great Lakes Valley Conference the six teams required to become an official conference sport. The league would consist of McKendree, Drury, UW-Parkside, University of Indianapolis, Truman State University, and Maryville University. No official announcement has been made by the GLVC pertaining to the addition of wrestling as a sponsored conference sport.
