(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 1) – The McKendree University men's D2 hockey team is set for a two game road series against Illinois State University. The teams play on Friday evening at 9:10 p.m., and again on Saturday at 5:50 p.m. at the Pepsi Ice Center in Bloomington, Ill.
The Bearcats are 14-3 overall on the season, and 11-1 in Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA) Gold Division play. McKendree is ranked first in both the MACHA Gold Division as well as the Central Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
Sophomore forward
Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL) leads the Bearcats in scoring with 18 goals and 24 assists for 42 points in just 17 games played. Behind Naas is sophomore forward Tyler Wilson with 12 goals and 28 assists for 40 points. Junior goaltender
Andrew Best (Midland, Ontario, Canada/Cambridge Bears Junior A team) has backstopped McKendree in 13 games this season registering two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.47, and a save percentage of 0.927. Senior goaltender
Trevor Klostermann (Highland, IL/Highland HS) has a record of 5-0 this season with one shutout, a goals-against average of 1.45, and a save percentage of 0.948
