(O'FALLON, Ill., Oct. 13) – The McKendree University men's D2 hockey team fell 5-4 on Saturday afternoon to Lindenwood University at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.
 
McKendree got on the board first when junior Tyler Wilson (Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada) scored his team leading 10^th goal with the help from freshman Trevor Wolf (Wellington, FL/Wellington High School). Lindenwood would take a 2-1 lead but the Bearcats tied it up at two after junior Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL) buried one past the Lion's goaltender.
 
Lindenwood would take a 4-2 lead heading into the third period.
 
Sophomore Connor Brennan (Castle Rock, CO/Regis Jesuit High School) scored a power play goal to cut into the Lindenwood lead with the help from sophomore Daniel Nordlander (Göteborg, Sweden/Wasaskolan Tingsryd) and Naas. Senior Lazar Lestaric (Belgrade, Serbia/National Sports Academy USHS) scored the fourth goal of the game just before the final buzzer but the Bearcats would fall 5-4 to the Lions.
 
The D2 hockey team will look for a split as they travel to Wentzville, MO to face Lindenwood University at 5:00p.m.
