(WENTZVILLE, Mo., Oct. 14) – The McKendree University men's D2 hockey team fell 4-2 against Lindenwood University on Sunday evening. The loss marked consecutive losses for the first time this season.
After no scoring in the opening period, the Lions took a 1-0 lead midway through the second period. Senior
Ty Watt (Barrie, Ontario, Canada/Rama Aces GMHL) tied the game in the third period with the help from sophomore
Jacob Scrum (Maryville, IL/Collinsville High School) and junior
Tyler Wilson (Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada). The Bearcats would take the lead on an unassisted goal from junior
Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL) just minutes later. McKendree would fall behind late in the final period and who not overcome the deficit and would fall 4-2 to Lindenwood.
The D2 hockey team will return to the rink on October 26 as they host Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in the first game of a home and home series.
