Connor Brennan (Castle Rock, CO/Regis Jesuit High School) recorded three consecutive power play goals in 57 seconds to bring McKendree back to an even score at three in McKendree's game against Lindenwood on Thursday night. The game would reach an overtime session, but would end in a 4-4 tie.
The Bearcats bring the season series against Lindenwood to 0-2-1. The teams will meet for a fourth and final time this season on Jan. 30 at Lindenwood.
McKendree moves to 14-4-1 overall on season after tonight's game.
Falling behind three goals after the second period, the Bearcats crawled back early in the final period to tie the game. Beginning the third period on the power play, junior
Tyler Wilson (Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada) sent a pass to a streaking Brennan in front on the net, scoring on a backhand from his knees to get McKendree on the board.
Just 46 seconds later, Brennan buried his second goal of the game, again on the power play. Brennan caught a rebound and put it past the Lion goaltender. Sophomore
Daniel Nordlander (Göteborg, Sweden/Wasaskolan Tingsryd) and senior
Ty Watt (Barrie, Ontario, Canada/Rama Aces GMHL) were credited with the assists. 11 seconds later, Watt send a pass across the crease to Brennan, completing the hat trick on a one timer power play goal to tie the game at three.
Lindenwood jumped back ahead with five minutes to go in period with a goal of their own. The Bearcats pulled the goalie, and tie it up at four with a goal by sophomore
Shayne Pluto (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Central Memorial High School). Watt recorded his third assist of the game on Pluto's goal.

Andrew Best (Midland, Ontario, Canada/Cambridge Bears Junior A team) stopped 35/39 Lindenwood shots to record a .897 save percentage.
The Bearcats will be back at the rink on Saturday night, as they begin a two game series against the Redbirds from Illinois State University at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30p.m.
