(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Feb. 16) – The McKendree University men's D2 hockey team fell to American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) D1 opponent Missouri State University by a final score of 3-1 on Friday evening.
The Bearcats move to 23-6 on the season with Friday's loss. The teams are set to face-off again on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Mediacom Ice Park in Springfield, Mo.
Missouri State took a two goal lead in the first period of the contest. Freshman defenseman Daniel Nordlander brought the Bearcats within one on a pass from sophomore
Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL), but McKendree trailed 2-1 after two period. The Bearcats were unable to score in the final period, as the Bears scored once to take the 3-1 victory.

Andrew Best (Midland, Ontario, Canada/Cambridge Bears Junior A team) turned aside 38 of 41 shots on goal, posting a save percentage of 0.927.
