(LEBANON, Ill. – Nov. 14) – The McKendree University men's wrestling team hits the road for this weekend's meet on Saturday, Nov. 16. They will he heading to Temple, AZ, to face No.5 Arizona State University. The competition begins at 11:00 A.M. (MST).

The men's team is coming off a season-opener at the Maryville Kaufman/ Brand/ Baylay Open, hosted by Maryville University. Individually, the Bearcats placed 10 in the top-6 of their weight classes, but there was no final team score.

Four of the Bearctas competed in the finals of their weight classes.

Marcus Povlick (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North) was defeated in a sudden victory (SV-1 4-2) and placed second in the Elite 133 bracket.

Nick Foster (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) won a tie breaker (TB-1 6-5) and placed first in the Elite 165 bracket.

Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) was defeated in a 10-3 decision and placed second in the Elite 197 bracket.

Josh Ramos (Plainfield, IL/Providence Catholic) was defeated in a 3-1 decision and placed second in the Amateur 157 bracket.

Arizona State University has had a successful start to their season. They defeated #20 Virginia and #23 Purdue in the Journeyman Duals earlier this month. They also captured three Journeyman Collegiate Classic tournament titles last weekend. Arizona State University will face Augustana (South Dakota) in Friday before they face McKendree on Saturday morning.
