(TEMPE, AZ – Nov. 16) – The McKendree University men's wrestling team took on No.5 Arizona State University at the Devil Financial Arena Saturday afternoon. Arizona State defeated McKendree 38-3, while Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) had the lone victory.

Below are the individual results for the Bearcats.

125: Marcus Povlick (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North) was defeated in a 6-2 decision by Brandon Courtney.

133: Christian Mejia (Elkhart, IN/) was defeated in a 6-0 decision by Josh Kramer.

141: Charles McNeal (Florissant, MO/Christian Brothers Catholic) was defeated in a technical fall (TF 20-5, 5:47) by Cory Cooks.

149: Frankie Falotico (Wardsville, MO/Blair Oaks) was defeated in major decision 15-1 by Josh Maruca.

165: Qian'te Wagner (Alton, Ill./Alton) was defeated in a sudden victory (SV-1. 5-3) by Josh Shields.

174: Nick Foster (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) was defeated in a 6-2 decision by Anthony Valencia.

184: Daniel Filipek (Warrenton, MO/Warrenton) was defeated in a technical fall (TF 22-6, 5:19) by Zahid Valencia.

197: Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) defeated Cade Belshay in a 10-7 decision.

HWT: Caleb Gossett (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell Central) was defeated by fall (TF 6:20) to Tanner Hall.

The Bearcats will be on the road again for their next matchup on Saturday, Nov. 23, in St. Charles, MO. They Joe Parisi Open, hosted by Lindenwood University, will begins at 9:00 A.M. in the Robert F. Hyland Arena.
