(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 9) – The McKendree University powerlifting program hosted the 2019 USA Powerlifting Beast of the Metro East Meet this past weekend. The Bearcats had eight of their 11 competitors place in their respective weight class divisions.

"The 2019 Beast of the Metro East was very successful," said head coach Guillermo Blanco. "We have been working hard all semester and it paid off with great results on the platform. For some lifters, it was their first meet and I'm excited about their performances. As a team I'm proud of how well we performed and the direction we're headed going into the spring semester's competitions."
