(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 23) – The McKendree University men's D1 hockey team will head on the road to Fremont, Neb. for a Midwest College Hockey series against Midland University. The Bearcats will look to take the season series after splitting two games at home on Nov. 22-23. Friday's puck drop is scheduled for 7:45pm and Saturday is set for 7:00pm.
 
The Bearcats sit at 10-2 overall on the season and 8-2 in Midwest College Hockey (MCH) play.
 
Through 12 games, senior Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL) leads the offense with 15 goals, 10 assists, and 25 points. Lazar Lestaric (Belgrade, Serbia/National Sports Academy USHS) guides the offense, posting a team high in assists with 16. Lestaric and junior Shayne Pluto (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Central Memorial High School) are second on the team in goals with seven.
 
In net, Andrew Best (Midland, Ontario, Canada/Cambridge Bears Junior A team) has a 4-1 record, 1.65 goals against average, and .931 save percentage. Sophomore Wes Werner (LaSalle, Ontario, Canada/Sandwich Secondary School) also supports a 4-1 record, 3.08 goals against average, and .869 save percentage.
 
About Midland
The Warriors sport an even 10-10 record and 5-5 record in MCH play. Andrew Carriere leads the offense with 10 goals, 15 assists, and 25 points. Fletcher Chun facilitates the offense with a team leading 16 assists, posting 22 points.
 
In net, Dakota McDonald and Tymen Edelkoort are the primary netminders. McDonald is 4-6 overall, 3.00 goals against average, with a .896 save percentage. Edelkoort supports a 4-4 record, 4.03 goals against average, and .864 save percentage.
