(LEBANON, Ill., Feb.12) – The No. 2 McKendree University men's wrestling team defeated the No.6 Bronchos of the University of Central Oklahoma by way of a 20-12 victory this past Wednesday night. The Bearcats improve to 10-2 overall on the year and remain undefeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
 
The Bearcat victory over Central Oklahoma included individual wins from Marcus Povlick (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North) who won the 125-lb weight class by a 6-3 decision, Nate Smalling (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) who won the 157-lb class by a 11-5 decision, Nick Foster (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) who won the 165-lb class by pinfall (2:21), Joshua Jones (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) who won the 174-lb class by a 3-2 decision, Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) who won the 197-lb class by an 6-0 decision, and Caleb Gossett (St. Charles, MO/Francis Howell Central) who won the 285-lb class by a 9-2 decision.
 
Men's wrestling will be back in action this upcoming Friday, February 14 when they host the Ouachita Baptist at 7:00 p.m.
