(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 6) – The McKendree University men's D1 hockey team is set to return to home ice for a Midwest College Hockey (MCH) series against visiting Northern Illinois University. Friday's game is set for 7:30pm and Saturday is slated for 5:00pm.
The Bearcats sit at 12-4 overall and 10-2 in MCH play this season. McKendree played Northern Illinois back on Nov. 8-9, outscoring the Huskies 30-6 in the two victories.
Offensively, senior
Dominic Naas (Neurensdorf, Zurich, Switzerland/Casper Coyotes WSHL) leads with 18 goals, 12 assists, and 30 points on the season.
Lazar Lestaric (Belgrade, Serbia/National Sports Academy USHS) guides the attack with a team-leading 19 assists, totaling 29 points. Juniors
Shayne Pluto (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/Central Memorial High School),
Daniel Nordlander (Göteborg, Sweden/Wasaskolan Tingsryd), and sophomore
Otasowie Omoregie (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/) are next with 17 points apiece.

Andrew Best (Midland, Ontario, Canada/Cambridge Bears Junior A team) sports a 5-2 record, 2.07 goals against average, and .927 save percentage. Sophomore
Wes Werner (LaSalle, Ontario, Canada/Sandwich Secondary School) has a 5-1 record, 3.23 goals against average, and .875 save percentage.
About Northern Illinois
The Huskies enter with a 5-18 overall record and 5-7 mark in MCH play. Rodahn Evans is the top offensive player for Northern Illinois with seven goals, seven assists, and 14 points on the season. Hunter Wahl leads in assists with nine.
In net, Chadwick Dodero and Brian Eisele share time between the pipes. Dodero has a 2-13 record, 5.61 goals against average, and .880 save percentage. Eisele supports a 3-5 record, 6.24 goals against average, and .870 save percentage.
