(LEBANON, Ill. – Jan. 18) – The No.5 McKendree University men's wrestling team is set to host the University of Central Missouri for the home-opener in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. The Bearcats will take the mat on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7:00 PM.

James Kisgen's team is 2-1 (1-1 GLVC) going into this weekend's dual. They are coming off a 1-1 weekend of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition, on Jan.10. The Bearcats won six of the 10 weight classes, including two major decision victories, in a 21-12 victory over Maryville. The Bearcats also saw their GLVC rival No.4 Lindenwood, and were defeated 18-19 in a tiebreaker. In the matchup, the Bearcats took the first weight class and the final three weight classes, including two pin victories.

The University of Central Missouri will open their 2021 season against McKendree, Wednesday night. at the conclusion of their 2019-20 season, the Mules finished with an 0-9 overall record. They had one wrestler place fifth overall in the 133-lbs weight class out of the 11-team, 104-wrestler NCAA Central Super Regional IV Championship tournament.
