(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Jan. 24) – The No.6 McKendree University men's wrestling team had their third Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition Sunday afternoon, against the T-No.7 University of Indianapolis. The Bearcats came back in the second half of the dual to get the 20-11 conference victory and gave the Greyhounds their first loss of the season.

Cam Fusco (Arnold, MO/Seckman) got the Bearcats on the board with a decision victory, and set the tone for the following two weight classes. The Greyhounds took over heavily in the 149-lb, 157-lb, 165-lb, and 174-lb classes to get back into the dual and take the lead. The Bearcats would come back in the 184-lb class to tie the dual back up, followed by a pin in the 197-lb class to take back the lead. An overtime decision victory in the heavyweight class would secure the conference win for the Bearcats.

Christian Mejia (Elkhart, IN/Elkhart Memorial) defeated Noah Cantu by fall at 4:57. Tyler Delaware (Dunlap, IL/Washington Community) defeated Timothy Wright by major decision, 11-3. Vincenzo Scaletta (Harwood Heights, IL/Ridgewood) defeated Dennis Hubbard in a 5-1 decision.

Next on the schedule for James Kisgen's team is a quad dual with No.20 Drury, Ouachita and Davenport. All four teams will compete on Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
