Massey Arnold Joins McKendree as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance

(LEBANON, Ill. – Jan. 25) – McKendree University Interim Athletic Director Anthony Francis announced Friday that Massey Arnold will serve as the Bearcats' new Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. Arnold comes to McKendree from Lindenwood University where he served as the Assistant Director for Compliance.

"We are excited to have Massey join our team," said Francis. "He has a great understanding of the role of an elite compliance administrator in this day and age, which was obvious during my many interactions with Massey over the years. He quickly rose to the top of our candidate pool due to his "can-do" attitude as well as his diverse experiences and knowledge of all things relative to compliance. We're truly looking forward to his leadership and collaborative approach as we continue to prioritize enhancing the student athlete experience. We are instantly better with the hiring of Massey."

"I'd like to thank Anthony and the McKendree team for allowing me this opportunity," said Arnold "I am excited to get to work with the Bearcat student-athletes, coaches, and support staff. Big things are ahead for this department and I am eager to help push us to the top."

During his time at Lindenwood, Arnold served their 27 NCAA programs and over 600 student-athletes. For the past three years, Arnold oversaw all recruiting activities, served as the primary contact for rules interpretations, developed and implemented rules education, assisted with initial and continuing eligibility, and processed wavers, appeals, and violations when needed.

Arnold also served as the Compliance Coordinator (2015-17) for Lindenwood, and was also as an adjunct professor for Sport Governance and Sport Law.

Arnold was the District and Juvenile Court Case Coordinator (2014-15) for the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in Arkadelphia, Ark. There, Arnold was in management of misdemeanor and juvenile criminal cases, and coordinator of involuntary commitments.

Arnold served as the Volunteer Compliance Assistant (2013-15) for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. There, he oversaw the NCAA Compliance Assistant software and APR data gathering and submission.

As a National Association of Athletic Compliance (NAAC) Division II Committee Member, Arnold was a recipient of the 2017 NAAC Convention Stipend and 2020 Rising Star Award.

Arnold earned his Bachelors of Political Science from the University of Mississippi in 2011, and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from William H. Bowen School of Law at Arkansas, Little Rock in 2015.
