Men's DI Hockey Hosts Illinois State in Homecoming Weekend Series

Bearcats Supporting PINK THE RINK over the two-match weekend

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's DI hockey hosts Illinois State in a two-game series over the weekend at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex. This weekend's matchups with Illinois Springfield will be PINK THE RINK at the McKendree Metro Metro Rec Plex and the Bearcats.

The Bearcats sit 0-3 and return to their home ice after their latest two matches were road matches at Midland University in Nebraska. The Bearcats dropped their opening match of the season to Maryville, 4-8, and then hit the road to the great plains with two matches at Midland in Fremont, Nebraska. McKendree dropped both matches to the Warriors.

Offensively, McKendree has been led by junior forward Cory Robinson, who has fired three goals and dished out one assist to average 1.33 points per game. Sophomore forward Brad Richardson and junior forward/defender Ryan Radke both have collected two points. Richardson scored twice so far this season while Radke has sent out two assists. Freshman forward Nikita Eruslanov is the third Bearcat to collect a goal this year. 

Three Bearcats have tended the net this fall so far with junior goaltender Kayne Pasquet taking the lead so far. Pasquet has played in two of the three McKendree contests, allowing nine goals but has a .906 save percentage to pair with a 5.57 goals allowed average. Sophomore goaltender Brady Weiss ha also logged two games played with five goals allowed and a goals allowed average of 6.24. Weiss owns a save percentage of 0.857 on the fall. Freshman goaltender Chad Purdy is the third Bearcat to log time in the net this year and owns a 0.806 save percentage.

Illinois State is 2-6 on the season with six points with the two victories. Tony Campise and Mitchell Oberlag lead the Redbird attack with four goals each. Campise also leads in total assists and points with five assists and nine points to average 1.13 points per game. Oberlag has also dished out two assists to total six points.
