O'Fallon, Ill. - McKendree University men's DI hockey was unable to contain an aggressive Redbird attack for the second straight night as the Bearcats dropped a fifth-straight contest. Sophomore forward
Price Dworin recorded his first score of the season in the outing.
McKendree went down 0-1 early in the first period but junior forward
Cory Robinson followed suit and fired the equalizing goal shortly after. The Robinson score put the match into a dead-lock up through the half way point of the first period.
The Redbirds of Illinois State then proceeded to score six-straight goals, going up 7-1 over the hosting-Bearcats in the second period. Four of the six-straight came in the latter art of the first period while two more followed the first intermission period. McKendree put in a second score just after the 11-minute mark from the forward Dworin.
Illinois State put in another two goals in the second period and one final cap-off score in the third to close down the McKendree Metro Rec Plex for the weekend.
McKendree has been unable to gain footing this season, sitting at 0-5 to open the year with three losses on its home ice.
