(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 4) – The No.6 McKendree University men's wrestling team will host their final quad dual of the season on Saturday, Feb. 6, in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center. The Bearcats will host Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) rival No.20 Drury.

James Kisgen's team was ranked No.6 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) regular season poll #1. The Bearcats sit in the No.6 spot with 52 points, previously in the No.5 position for the preseason poll edition. Individually, the Bearcats have 4 ranked wrestlers, with one in the No.1 spot.

Nate Smalling (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) moves to the No.8 spot in the 157-lb. class. Junior
Joshua Jones (Chicago Heights, IL/Marian Catholic) remains in the No.2 spot for the 174-lb class. Redshirt-Senior
Daniel Filipek (Warrenton, MO/Warrenton) stays in the No.5 spot for the 184-lb. class. Senior
Ryan Vasbinder (Wyoming, MI/Grandville) is still ranked No.1 in the 197-lb class.

The Bearcats are heading into this final stretch with a 4-1 record (2-1 in GLVC).
James Kisgen's team are coming a comeback win, 20-11, over No.11 University of Indianapolis on Jan. 24. The Bearcats set the stage for the dual by taking the first three weight classes, and then regaining their lead in the final three weight classes. Senior
Ryan Vasbinder (Wyoming, MI/Grandville) was the only Bearcats to record a victory by pin, while the rest of the victories came by decisions.
No.20 Drury is 3-1 (3-1 on GLVC) so far this year, coming off an 8-36 loss to No.4 Lindenwood.
