The McKendree University men's hockey team captures a 4-2 victory on the road at Maryville University on Saturday evening.
 
Minutes into the start, Otasowie Omoregie (Pickering, Ontario, Canada/) scored a power-play goal unassisted. Maryville answered back with two goals. The Bearcats were trailing behind 1-2 at the end of the first period.
 
Six minutes into the second period, Omoregie scored his second goal of the night following a pass from Karsten Portell () and Brad Richardson (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada/John McCrae Secondary School). Halfway through the period, Richardson found the back of the net after connecting with Omoregie. McKendree took the lead 3-2 heading into the second intermission.
 
Five minutes into the final period, Kirill Proskurin (Moscow, Russia/School #750) shot the Bearcat's fourth goal of the night. Ryan Reader (Granite City, IL/Granite City High School) and Trevor Roehrig (Gorxheimertal, Hessen, Germany/Lower Austrian International School) were credited with assists.
 
In the net, Wes Werner (LaSalle, Ontario, Canada/Sandwich Secondary School) made 39/41 saves for the win.
 
The win concludes the 2021 regular season for the Bearcats.
