Men's Club Water Polo Forced to Forfeit Seventh Place Game With Penn State at National Collegiate Club Championships

Bearcats Were Missing Two Players for Game - One Due to Injury and One Due to Suspension

NEWBERG, Ore. – The McKendree University men's club water polo team concluded play here Sunday at the 2022 National Collegiate Club Championships held at the Chehalem Aquatic and Fitness Center by being forced to forfeit its seventh-place game against Penn State University.

McKendree, who finishes the club season with an 8-4 overall record, was forced to forfeit the game after having not enough players to compete as they had a player sitting out due to injury and another player was forced to sit out the game after serving a suspension from a red card issued following Saturday's 10-8 consolation round loss to the University of Colorado.

Due to forfeit, Penn State is credited with a 5-0 win against the Bearcats and finishes in seventh place overall. McKendree earns an eighth-place finish.

The Bearcats and the Nittany Lions played an exhibition contest against each other to complete both institutions participation at this year's championships.
