LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's wrestling is headed off for a trio of duals (February 5) and an open tournament (February 6) at the Greyhound-hosted event in Indianapolis. The fifth-ranked Bearcats (10-1, 5-0 GLVC) travel for matchups against three Mountain East programs at UIndy's ARC.
McKendree, which currently owns a nine-match winning streak, will kick off its duals this weekend with a matchup against Glenville State College (15-7) at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 5. The Bearcats will then take on Notre Dame College (1-3) at 4 P.M. and will end it with a contest against Wheeling (0-3) at 6 P.M. to close out the dual outing.
No.5 McKendree most recently dismantled William Jewell on January 30 (42-6) and defeated the seventh-ranked UIndy Greyhounds, 18-14, at home on January 26. The two victories marked fourth and fifth-straight wins for the Bearcats in the GLVC as they followed a trio of GLVC wins in Chesterfield. The trio of victories included wins over Ouachita Baptist (33-10), Lindenwood (26-9), and the host Maryville (25-15). Overall, McKendree has collected nine-straight dual match wins, which date back to NWCA National Duals in Louisville. National Duals started off slow with the Bearcats dropping their first matchup but then the Bearcats rattled off four-straight impressive wins to capture fifth place.
Following the Greyhound Duals, McKendree wrestlers will compete in the Greyhound Open the following day, February 6.
