LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's D1 hockey and head coach
Garry Henson announced their latest addition for the upcoming 2022-23 season with wing Jack Sumner of Godfrey, Illinois.
Sumner, a product of Edwardsville, has spent the last three seasons in the NA3HL, earning time with the St. Louis Jr. Blues, Coulee Region Chill, and the Oregon Tradesmen. This past season, 2021-22, the wing totaled 48 games played , splitting his year between the Jr. Blues and the Tradesmen. He collected 10 points behind five goals and five assists in the regular season while also playing in four postseason contests with the Tradesmen. Overall in his three years, Sumner amassed 109 games played with a multitude of points throughout his seasons.

"We are very happy Jack will be a member of our program and academic community this upcoming year. Jack attended Edwardsville High School just down the road from McKendree's campus and played for EHS Tiger Hockey before moving on to the junior hockey ranks. He brings a lot of top-tier experience to the Bearcats along with size, speed, and versatility."
