McKendree Announces 2022 Sports Hall of Fame Class

LEBANON, Ill. (August 5, 2022) – McKendree University congratulates three former student-athletes and one team who are entering the Bearcat Sports Hall of Fame in 2022.
 
Ricardo Harris (Class 2003, Football), Amy (Quirin) Kremmel (Class of 2009, Softball), Dylan Mueth (Class of 2014, Men's Hockey) and the 2002-03 Men's Basketball Team will be honored on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. during the university's Alumni Awards Dinner.

The Sports Hall of Fame recognizes those who, through leadership and character, have made exceptional contributions to the honor and prestige of the university. Honorees can be inducted as former student-athletes, former coaches, or alumni coaches and sports professional.
 
The Class of 2022 will also be recognized at halftime of the McKendree football game vs. Southwest Baptist University on Oct. 29. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.

Ricardo Harris HOFRicardo Harris – Class of 2003 – Football
  • 2002 NAIA First-Team All-American at defensive lineman
  • 2001 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American at defensive lineman
  • 2002 Mid-States Football Association Defensive Player of the Year
  • Tied for fourth in school history in forced fumbles (6), sixth in tackles for loss (40) and tied for 10th in quarterback sacks (16.5)
  • Originally from East Moline, Illinois (United Township High School)
  • Resides in Sterling Heights, Michigan
 
Amy (Quirin) Kremmel – Class of 2009 – SoftballAmy Kremmel HOF
  • 2009 NAIA Second-Team All-American at pitcher
  • 65-36 overall record with 1.71 ERA in 688.0 innings pitched with 619 Ks
  • Holds career records for wins (65), appearances (115), complete games (84), strikeouts (619) and innings pitched (688.0)
  • Holds single-season records for wins (28 in 2006), innings pitched (262.2 in 2006), strikeouts (244 in 2006) and complete games (33 in 2006)
  • Originally from Millstadt, Illinois (Belleville West High School)
  • Resides in Millstadt
 
Dylan Mueth – Class of 2014 – Men's HockeyDylan Mueth HOF
  • Four-year career included 93 goals and 62 assists for 155 points
  • Helped lead McKendree to 57 wins over his four years including 19 wins in 2015-16
  • Played two seasons (2011, 2012) before missing two years to have open heart surgery
  • Returned to the ice to lead the team in scoring with 26 goals and 20 assists for 46 points in 2015
  • As a senior in 2016, he captained the Bearcats to second national tournament appearance
  • Former McKendree D2 Men's Hockey Head Coach
  • Current head coach of St. Louis AAA Blues U12 Pee Wee Major
  • Originally from New Baden, Illinois (Wesclin High School)
  • Resides in O'Fallon, Illinois

  • Advanced to the NAIA Final Four for first time in school history
  • 34-4 Overall Record
  • Head Coach Harry Statham
  • Earned first No. 1 ranking in the NAIA poll in December
  • American Midwest Conference (AMC) Champions
  • Posted a 10-0 mark in AMC play, the first undefeated record in league play in school history
  • Reeled off three winning streaks of at least 10 games
  • Matt Laur named NAIA National Player of the Year
  • Statham became the NAIA's all-time leader in career victories (817) with 88-87 home victory over Mountain State on Nov. 15, 2002
  • Entered NAIA Tournament as No. 2 seed, the highest in school history
