LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's D1 hockey and head coach
Garry Henson announced their latest addition for the upcoming 2022-23 season with forward
Anson Smith of Bonnyville, AB, Canada, joining the Bearcats' program.
The forward enters his first season with the Bearcats after playing for the Elmira Junior Enforcers of the USPHL Premier last season. Smith amassed 44 games played, collecting 52 total points over his ice time. The forward made massive and successful efforts in dishing-out the puck with the Enforcers, totaling 38 assists in the regular season. He also fired 14 of his own goals in the process.
Head coach Garry Henson on on the addition of Smith:
"Anson will add so much to the team. He's extremely responsible at both ends of the ice. He has great vision, speed, and comes from a high competition level. Anson will play important minutes for us and we can't wait to see him in purple and white."
