No.12 Men's Wrestling Opens GLVC Slate with Dominant Win Over Quincy

Bearcats handle Hawks with six extra-point victories

QUINCY, Ill. - No.12 McKendree University men's wrestling (5-3, 1-0 GLVC) began its conference dual season on Wednesday night with a commanding 35-13 victory over the Quincy Hawks. The Bearcats are fresh-off the NWCA National Duals competition in Louisville, Kentucky, where they finished the weekend with back-to-back wins and helped push head coach James Kisgen to his 200th career dual victory. With the victory on Wednesday, McKendree grabbed its third-straight dual win and faces Findlay on Friday at 7 PM in Lebanon at MPCC.

NOTES
Redshirt junior 133 Ryan Ripplinger's major decision marked his fourth of the year, while improving to 10-12 this season. He owns eight bonus-point matches with four pinfalls and four majors.

Sophomore 149 Brody Norman (4-2) grabbed his first technical fall (6:28) win of the season behind a 16-1 effort. He totals four wins this year with three decisions.

Redshirt freshman 157 Jacob Bornemann (7-5) earned his second fall victory this year with the 4-minute pin at Quincy.

Senior 184 Joshua Jones (18-7) collected his fifth major (21-12) of the season and seventh extra-point match.

Redshirt sophomore 197 Logan Kvien improved to 12-6 with his second major decision (9-1) of the year. Kvien owns a total of nine bonus-point wins this season.

Redshirt freshman Dustin Olmstead (7-6) capped-off the night and first conference dual with his fourth pin victory (6:36) this season. Olmstead owns five extra-point matches this year.
