No.3 Men's Wrestling Narrowly Falls to No.2 UCO After Huge Comeback

Bearcats come back from 12-0 deficit

LEBANON, Ill. | Melvin Price Convocation Center - Third-ranked McKendree University men's wrestling (1-1) narrowly dropped to No.2 Central Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon, 19-18, after making a huge comeback on a 12-0 deficit to the Bronchos. The Bearcats captured victories in the 149, 165, 174, 197, and 285 weight classes while coming up just short of toppling the two-time defending national champion Bronchos. McKendree hits the mats again on November 16 at the Findlay Open in Ohio before heading up to the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open on November 23.

NOTES
McKendree came back from a 12-0 deficit, outscoring the Bronchos 18-7 in the final 7 weight classes. McKendree and Central Oklahoma's all-time series moves to 5-4 in favor of the Bearcats with the result.

149 Joey Semerad kicked off the comeback for the Bearcats with his victory by fall in the fifth minute over UCO's Bam West. Semerad sits 2-0 on the season with the victory.

165 Cory Peterson avenged his loss to Jump in the Third Place match at the 2024 NCAA DII National Championships with his sudden victory win. Peterson holds a 2-1 advantage all-time over Jump.
