LEBANON, Ill. - No.9 McKendree University men's wrestling wrapped up its home slate this season with two ranked battles over the weekend, defeating No.9 Indianapolis on Saturday, 24-12, and No.12 Upper Iowa on Sunday, 25-14. The Bearcats celebrated senior night on Saturday during the second annual Wrestling at The Hett event, highlighting 10 seniors prior to the victory. McKendree then brought the Peacocks to the Melvin Price Convocation Center on Sunday, where the Bearcats tallied a second-straight win over UIU. McKendree will close out its regular season on February 18 with two conference bouts at the GLVC Duals, where the league champion will be crowned.

NOTES
McKendree notched two ranked victories in as many days over Saturday and Sunday, beating No.9 UIndy and No.12 Upper Iowa, moving to 12-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference. The Bearcats total nine wins over ranked adversaries on the campaign.
With the win over UIndy, the Bearcats moved to 11-1 against the Greyhounds in its NCAA DII life and 15-3 all-time. Against UIU, McKendree improved to 4-2 all-time while grabbing its second win over the Peacocks of the 2023-24 season.
Saturday's bout and senior night celebrations marked the second annual Wrestling at The Hett event with the Bearcats adding a second consecutive win at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts after dominating Davenport in 2023

Ronan Schuelke, the #3 in his weight class, captured two ranked wins, defeating #6 Blake Mulkey (UIndy) and #5 Tate Murty (UIU).

Cory Peterson, the #4 in his class, up-ended the current #2 165 and defending national champion in Chase Luensmann (UIU). Peterson opened the weekend with a decision over UIndy's Dawson Combest.

Christian Mejia continued his prowess, adding two more bonus-point wins in his matches with a major over Nathan Smith (UIndy) and a tech against Treyton Ackman (UIU).
