Beach Volleyball Wins Season Opener with 4-2 Victory

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Mckendree beach volleyball team started its season with a 4-2 win over Park University at the Hawks Championship Center this Friday.

The match began with McKendree's first pair, sophomore Brooke Junker and freshman Natalie Witt, posting a 21-10, 24-22 win. Pairs two and three proved difficult for the Bearcats but McKendree's No. 4 pair, junior Amber Williams and freshman Lauryn Lahey followed that up with a 21-17, 21-17 victory. Freshman Abby Hickman and freshman Ashleigh Jamruk, the Bearcats pair No. 5 followed with a 21-11, 21-10 victory. To end the day, pair No.6, sophomore Lili Wilkerson, and freshman Torie Pollard got the final win for McKendree with a 19-21, 24-22, 15-10 victory.

Bearcats are back in action March 5 as they head up to Morehead, Kentucky to compete against Morehead State University.
