Beach Volleyball Battles the Eagles on the Road

MOREHEAD, Ken. - The McKendree Beach Volleyball team moved to 1-2 on the season after taking two losses against Morehead State University.

McKendree played their first round of matches at 11:00 am. Morehead State University defeated the Bearcats 4-1. McKendree's pair one with sophomore Brooke Junker and freshman Natalie Witt got the win for the Bearcats in three sets with scores of 21-16, 11-21, 15-10.

The Bearcats played their second round of matches at 2:00 pm, with the Eagles defeating the Bearcats 3-2. In dual two the Bearcats had two pairs come out with the win. Junker and Witt defeated pair one for the Eagles in two sets with scores of 21-18, 21-17. Freshman Ashleigh Jamruk and freshman Abby Hickman also came out with the victory against the Eagles with scores of 21-18, 18-21, and 15-10.

The Bearcats are back in action with their home opener on Thursday, March 7 against Eastern Illinois University at Silver Creek Saloon in Belleville, Ill.
