INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree University men's tennis senior
Seb Holden was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Holden helped the Bearcats to two victories over this past week over #49 ranked Northwood University (4-2) and Walsh University (4-3). In singles play, Holden played in the No. 1 spot for both matches, defeating Northwood's #56-ranked Max Wild 7(7)-6(5), 6-1 and Walsh's Luis Hernandez 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
"Seb definitely deserves this award. He hasn't played his best tennis, but he has been finding ways to win. That's the marker of a great player. He is only going to get better this season," said Coach Joost on Holden.
Holden and the Bearcats are back in action this coming weekend, hosting Harding University on Saturday, March 22
nd at 1:00 PM at Belleville East High School.
